What you'll learn on the Corporate Banking and Markets graduate scheme
Over the duration of the graduate programme, you’ll work in a variety of teams to support our clients with their debt financing, risk management, securitisation, foreign exchange and transaction banking needs.
Through your first three placements you’ll gain experience in client facing, product specialist and risk roles. For your final rotation, you’ll choose your specialism in a range of relationship, market or product roles. On completing the scheme, you’ll have the platform and the confidence to take your career in the direction of your choice.
You’ll receive a range of training, including an invitation to an intensive training programme before you begin. This will give you a supportive environment to gain the foundation you need to succeed in the business, allow you to meet fellow graduates and mentors, and get you off to a strong start. We’ll also support you to work towards a professional qualification to further your personal development.
Throughout the scheme, you’ll see how we’re building digital innovation into everything we do and focused on creating sustainable options for our clients and colleagues within the Corporate Institutional Bank. You’ll also grow an encouraging network of peers and colleagues, who are as passionate about learning as you are. Above all, you’ll get a good idea of where you’d like to specialise and further develop your career.

The work you could be doing
- Meeting with clients to understand their financing, transactional and risk management needs and how we can support them
- Supporting deal teams by helping to pitch for business, developing leads and supporting on deal execution
- Working on transactions within a team of experts and identifying a range of products and solutions to meet the needs and ambition of our clients
- Using data analytics to inform insightful conversations with clients
- Monitoring market opportunities, identifying trade ideas and undertaking financial analysis
- Developing business cases for investment and product innovation and supporting with pricing and commercialisation activities
- Supporting our work to help break down barriers to build a more inclusive society

Locations
You’ll be based at one of our hubs in London, Bristol, Birmingham or Edinburgh for the duration of your scheme. There is the option to complete one of your six-month placements at a different UK or international location, although we can’t offer any financial support to help you relocate and you would be expected to return to your main hub after that placement.
This scheme supports hybrid working, which means you can be flexible, working a minimum of two days per week in the office and the rest at home.
